IT Support Engineer - Port of Tacoma

IT SUPPORT ENGINEER - Port of Tacoma. Compensation: Starting salary range of $51,466-$64,308/yr, DOQ, plus full benefits

Duties: As a member of the IT Service Team, the IT Support Engineer provides customer service focused technical support to computer users. This position is also responsible for researching and implementing technologies and processes that enhance the efficiency and automation of IT service activities, such as Group Policies, scripting languages, and deployment tools. Other duties include evaluating PC hardware and software, developing system documentation and maintaining software patches. This position requires significant experience using Microsoft Operating system, networking and desktop technologies.

Credentials: Minimum required education is a college degree in computer science, business administration accounting or related discipline. MCP certification (Microsoft Certified Professional) or MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) certification is desirable.
Previous job experience should include extensive work with Windows OS and local area networks. Experience with Microsoft Group Policies and WSUS software for Windows Critical Updates and patch management is required. Exposure to CISCO, VMWare and HP SAN software and equipment is desirable. Experience with ITIL processes is also desirable.
